Online Karaoke Recorder
Load an instrumental track, sing through headphones, and download a mixed karaoke cover. This browser-based karaoke recorder is for recording vocals over an existing backing track.
Record a karaoke cover over an instrumental
This karaoke recorder plays an instrumental track while your microphone records your singing, then mixes both into one MP3 file ready to share. It is built for cover singers, TikTok and Instagram creators, language learners, and home practice.
Start with a backing track
Choose an instrumental you already have, or use the AI Vocal Remover first to remove vocals from a song and create one.
Sing along, browser handles the mix
When you hit record, the instrumental plays through your headphones while we record your microphone. We mix both tracks automatically when you stop.
Wear headphones while recording
Always wear headphones while recording. Otherwise your mic will pick up the instrumental playing through speakers, causing an echoey mix.
Privacy first
Audio never leaves your device. Recording and mixing all run locally in your browser using the Web Audio API.
Karaoke maker FAQ
Does this karaoke maker remove vocals from a song?
No. This page records your voice over an instrumental track you already have. If you need to remove vocals from a song first, use the AI vocal remover to create an instrumental backing track, then come back here to record your vocal.
Do I need an instrumental track first?
Yes. This tool needs a backing track or instrumental file to play while you sing. You can upload your own instrumental, use a royalty-free backing track, or make one from a song with the AI vocal remover.
Why do I need headphones?
Without headphones, your microphone picks up the instrumental playing through your speakers, which causes echo and bleed-through in the final mix. Wear any pair of headphones (even earbuds) for a clean recording.
Where can I get instrumentals?
Use our AI vocal remover to make an instrumental from any MP3, search YouTube for 'karaoke version' of your song, or download royalty-free instrumentals from sites like Pixabay or YouTube Audio Library.
Can I make a karaoke video with the original picture?
This recorder exports an audio mix only. If you want a finished MP4 karaoke video with the original picture and instrumental audio, use the karaoke video maker.
Can I record multiple takes and pick the best one?
Each session is one take. Recording stops when you click Stop or when the instrumental ends. To redo it, use 'Start over' and choose the instrumental again.
Do my files or my voice get uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser: instrumental playback, microphone recording, mixing, and MP3 encoding. Nothing is sent to any server.
Why does my voice sound out of sync with the music?
Some headphones / Bluetooth setups introduce playback latency. Use wired headphones for the lowest delay, or sing slightly ahead of the beat. We don't apply latency compensation in the mix.
Can I post my karaoke to TikTok / YouTube?
Yes — but be aware: the original song you're singing along to may be copyrighted. Always respect the original artist's rights when posting publicly.
