AI Audio Noise Reduction for Recordings

Clean up noisy audio recordings with AI. Reduce hum, hiss, wind, room noise, and keyboard clicks from podcasts, interviews, meetings, voice memos, and videos while keeping speech natural.

Clean up audio recordings online

AI audio noise reduction separates speech from non-speech noise in real recordings. Upload an audio or video file and get back a cleaner audio track with hum, hiss, wind, and room noise reduced.

Clean up podcast and interview recordings

Reduce room tone, AC hum, traffic, and keyboard clicks from spoken recordings. Keeps host and guest voices clear without the harsh, robotic sound common in older noise removal tools.

Improve meeting, lecture, and Zoom audio

Online meetings and classroom recordings often have HVAC drone, projector fans, laptop noise, or room echo underneath the voice. The model reduces those distractions while preserving speech.

Reduce noise in video audio

Wind, traffic, and crowd noise are common in vlogs and field recordings. Upload MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, or FLV — the tool extracts the audio track, denoises it, and gives you back a clean audio file.

Voice memos, dictation, and transcription prep

Phone recordings from cafes, cars, or the street become easier to hear. This is a useful pre-processing step before transcription tools that struggle with noisy speech.

Audio noise reduction FAQ

How does AI audio noise reduction work?

A neural network separates speech from non-speech noise in the recording. It targets hum, hiss, wind, fan noise, traffic, and clicks. It is not a music-vs-vocals separator — for songs, use our AI vocal remover or stem splitter. If your input is a song with background hiss, only the hiss is reduced; the music itself stays.

Can I clean up audio from a video file?

Yes. Upload MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, or FLV and VocalDock extracts the audio track, reduces noise, and gives you a cleaned audio file in your chosen format. If you need the cleaned audio back inside the original video, re-mux it with a standard video editor.

What output formats are supported?

All 8 common audio formats: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus, and AIFF. Pick whichever fits your downstream tool — MP3 for sharing, WAV / FLAC for editing, M4A for Apple workflows.

How much noise can it actually remove?

It works best on steady or semi-steady noise such as fans, hum, hiss, wind, and room tone. Very loud noise or another person speaking next to the microphone is harder. For best results, the voice you want to keep should still be the loudest thing in the recording.

Is this the same as headphone noise cancellation?

No. Headphone noise cancellation reduces what you hear while listening. This tool cleans up an audio or video recording after it has already been captured, so you can download a cleaner file.

Can I use this to clean up audio before transcription?

Yes. Reducing fan noise, traffic, hiss, or room noise before transcription can make speech easier for transcription tools to detect. It will not fix missing words or speech that is completely covered by another loud sound.

How long does audio noise reduction take?

About 1/10 of the input duration plus 10–15 seconds overhead on GPU. A 10-minute recording usually finishes in around 1.5 minutes, including cold start.

Is the AI audio noise reduction tool free?

Free starter credits on sign-up cover several short recordings. Beyond that, top-up credits as needed — no subscription. One-time purchase, credits don't expire.
