What does this online voice changer do?
Apply voice effects to any audio — speech, vocals, video clips, or a quick recording from your microphone. This audio voice changer covers the most-searched effects in one place: deep voice, chipmunk voice, robot voice, monster voice, radio and telephone filters, plus pitch up and pitch down without changing speed.
Free voice changer with 8 ready effects
If you want the best free voice changer for quick edits, start with practical presets instead of complex audio software. Deep voice and high voice keep the duration unchanged, chipmunk and monster use the classic speed-and-pitch trick, and robot, echo, radio and telephone add familiar voice changer effects for podcasts and short-video edits.
Change your voice from a recording, no install
Record straight from the mic, or drop in an MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, MOV, or WebM. Switch presets, preview, and download. It works like an online voice changer app, but nothing is uploaded — the audio stays on your device.
Audio voice changer for clips, songs, or short video
Use it as an audio voice changer or video voice changer for vocals, voice memos, character dialogue, comedy sketches, or social-video voiceovers. Export to MP3 (most compatible) or WAV (lossless).
Deep voice changer
The Deep voice preset lowers pitch by 6 semitones while keeping the original duration — speech still sounds like real speech, just deeper. Good for movie-trailer narration, dramatic voiceovers, masking a voice memo, or making yourself sound like a baritone radio host. Because the speed is preserved, words don't drag like a slow-down trick. 6 semitones is roughly the distance from a tenor to a baritone, so it's noticeably lower but still natural enough for podcasting or audiobook narration.
High voice changer
Shifts pitch up by 6 semitones without speeding up the audio. Used for kid-content character voiceovers, vocal harmony experiments, comedy sketches, or transforming a lower voice into a higher register. Compared to the Chipmunk preset, High voice keeps the original tempo so words stay intelligible instead of becoming fast-and-cute. 6 semitones is a tritone — a wide, expressive interval that's still inside the range of natural human speech.
Chipmunk voice changer
The classic chipmunk effect — speeds the audio up to 1.6× and lets pitch rise with the speed. This is the 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' sound used in kids' content, TikTok comedy edits, and helium-balloon parody videos. Because speed and pitch move together (no time-stretch), the result is the authentic vintage tape-style chipmunk voice, not a polished digital pitch-up. Best on speech and singing under 10 seconds — anything longer gets exhausting at this rate.
Monster voice changer
Slows the audio to 0.65× and drops pitch along with it — the result is a deep, slow, threatening voice. Great for horror narration, game-monster voiceovers, Halloween clips, or audiobook villains. Unlike Deep voice which keeps the tempo, Monster intentionally drags the cadence to add menace. Works best on short phrases (4–10 seconds) — a full sentence at 0.65× takes 50% longer to play and can drag if overused.
Robot voice changer
Multiplies your voice signal with a 50 Hz sine wave (ring modulation) — the same technique used for the original Dalek voice in Doctor Who. The result is a metallic, sci-fi robot vocal with characteristic harmonic sidebands. Used for robot character voiceovers, sci-fi short films, retro game NPC dialogue, and creative audio effects. Unlike vocoder-style 'autotune robots' (Cher-era effects), ring modulation gives the hard, mechanical robot you'd hear in 60s sci-fi.
Echo voice changer
Adds a 280 ms delay with 42% feedback for repeating echoes that decay over about 1.6 seconds — like speaking in a large cave or empty hall. Great for dramatic narration, fantasy-game wizard voices, meditation guidance, or ASMR atmosphere. The dry signal is preserved alongside the wet echo so words remain intelligible. The decay is gentle enough that even a 5-second clip doesn't get muddy from overlapping repeats.
Radio voice changer
A 300–3000 Hz band-pass filter mimics the limited frequency range of an old AM radio, plus a soft-clip distortion adds the warm overdrive of a vintage receiver. Used for old-time radio broadcaster voiceovers, war-movie radio chatter, podcast skits, or vintage character announcers. The filter cuts low rumble and high sparkle, leaving the midrange-heavy honky timbre that signals 'this voice is coming through a radio' to the listener.
Telephone voice changer
A narrower 500–2000 Hz band-pass plus a more aggressive soft-clip — closely matching the limited bandwidth of an old phone line (historically 300–3400 Hz). Use it for movie phone-call scenes, voicemail intros, mystery-game suspect calls, or 'voice on the other end of the line' character work. The narrower band makes it sound clearly call-quality (not full-fidelity), and the harder clip adds the slight static edge of a noisy connection.
Voice changer FAQ
Is this voice changer really free?
Yes. No signup, no upload, no credit cost — the audio is processed locally in your browser.
Does it work on iPhone or Android?
Yes, in modern Chrome, Safari, and Edge mobile browsers. Recording requires you to grant microphone permission on first use.
Can I change voice in real time?
This tool applies the effect after recording or upload — you pick a preset, then preview and download. Real-time mic monitoring is on the roadmap for a future update.
Is this an AI voice changer?
It is not a voice cloning AI. The presets use pitch shifting, filters, echo, and modulation to create voice effects locally in your browser.
Can I use it as a Discord or gaming voice changer?
Not for live microphone input yet. It does not change your voice inside Discord, Roblox, or games in real time, but you can create downloadable voice clips for edits, posts, and character audio.
Can I change the voice from a video file?
Yes, in supported browsers. Upload MP4, MOV, or WebM and VocalDock will read the audio track, apply the effect, and export an audio file.
Which preset sounds most like a natural lower voice?
Use Deep voice — it shifts pitch down 6 semitones while keeping the original duration, so speech still sounds natural rather than slowed down.
Can I clone or impersonate a specific person's voice with this tool?
No. This is a pitch and effects voice changer, not a voice cloning model. Use it for your own recordings, character voices, or audio you have permission to edit.
